Think of a special self care night that helps one feel loved and nurtured as a mother would to her child; a cozy bedtime bath with the healing, calm scent of lavender, a delicious box of decadent chocolate for that late night treat, and a little stuffed toy to connect with the child within us all and to feel a little less alone. Capitalizing on human emotions, the brand Happiness=Comfort, includes a milk carton-shaped box of lavender-scented Epsom salts (for that luxurious, detoxifying bath time), a heart-shaped box of gourmet chocolates, and a label wrapped around a plushie toy. All of these items are placed into a larger gift-wrapped container and sold as a happiness kit. The packaging design features playful font choices and vectored patterns that are inspired by the Powerpuff Girl aesthetic; bubble letters and highly saturated hearts, stars and circles appear overlapping in a seemingly chaotic order. The Epsom salts’ package incorporates realistic photography elements of lavender flowers, and the box of chocolates portraying a photo of the contents inside, and the label wrap for the plushie toy having a photo of the plushie itself on the label as well. These three items inside the kit are carefully picked to describe my personal opinion of what brings me happiness and a connection to the senses. Scented lavender, tasty chocolate, soft stuffed animal, and visuals that bring me back to my childhood.
